The professor picked my script first to read in class today. She passed out copies for students to read aloud while she narrated. Luckily, the two people who read the main parts were good sports and actually threw some effort into singing the lines. It got a good amount of laughs, but I’m not sure if it was the timing in the script or if it was just because of the idea itself. Either way, the class was responsive afterwards, saying some nice things that I appreciated.
Next step is to lengthen the script now. I need it to be around twelve to thirteen pages without songs, which shouldn’t be too hard. I’m going to completely leave out any lyrics, just to see how much room I still have before I add any full length songs to the script. Next draft probably won’t be done until sometime in the middle of this summer, unless I push it off until a day or so before it’s due in Senior Film.
